Terms of Service

Introduction

Welcome to ClioCache. These Terms of Service govern your use of the ClioCache subscription service. By subscribing to or using ClioCache, you agree to comply with these Terms. Please read them carefully.

About ClioCache

ClioCache is a subscription-based service designed to help you preserve your memories. Depending on your subscription plan, you’ll receive packages at a specified frequency, such as monthly or annually, containing high-quality paper, and a pre-paid return envelope. Once you send your completed entries back to us, we securely store them in a fireproof, environmentally controlled facility. When requested, we return your preserved entries for you to rediscover and cherish.

Eligibility

To use ClioCache, you must:

1. Be at least 16 years old or have parental or guardian consent.

2. Provide accurate and up-to-date information during the subscription process.

Subscription and Billing

1. Subscription Plans: ClioCache offers various subscription plans. The details of these plans, including pricing, are available on our website.

2. Billing: By subscribing, you authorise us to charge your payment method for the subscription fees. Billing occurs at regular intervals based on your selected plan.

3. Pausing: You may pause your subscription at any time by emailing us at contact@cliocache.com. When the service is paused, we will stop sending you writing prompts and packages based on your subscription frequency for a maximum of 3 months. We can continue to securely store your previously submitted entries long-term. There will be a £5 fee for this long-term storage service.

4. Cancelling: You may cancel your subscription at any time by emailing contact@cliocache.com. Cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing cycle. Three days’ notice before your payment cycle date is required to activate cancellation. 

5. We reserve the right to amend the price of subscription as inline with inflation.

User Responsibilities

1. Writing Content: You are solely responsible for the content that you submit. Please ensure that your entries do not include inappropriate, harmful, or illegal material.  

2. Return Envelope Usage: Only use the provided return envelopes to send your ClioCache entries. This ensures that all submissions are properly tracked and securely delivered to our storage facility. External diary entries or unrelated content cannot be accepted due to processing limitations and security protocols. If we believe that your envelope contains any  additional, unapproved items, we will contact you and may return the envelope to you. 

3. Delivery Address: Ensure your delivery and return addresses are accurate to avoid delays or lost items. Please inform us immediately if you change your address. You can do this by emailing us at contact@cliocache.com

Storage and Retrieval

1. If your subscription is unpaid or inactive for 3 months, we will attempt to contact you through the email address linked with your account. After a further month we will attempt to contact your nominee. You or your nominee have 6 months from the date of the last payment to request a ‘CacheOut’ and retrieve your stored memories. After this period, if no payment or CacheOut request is received and we have been unable to contact you or your nominee, all stored entries will be irrecoverably destroyed, with no obligation for reimbursement of your subscription fees. 
2. Please note that we will only ever send your CacheOut to you or your designated nominee whose email we have been given. It is your responsibility to email us if you want to change your nominee.

2. Secure Storage: ClioCache prioritises the confidentiality and security of your entries. They are stored in a fireproof, environmentally controlled facility.

3. CacheOut Requests: You can request a CacheOut to receive your memoirs. This request is included in your subscription at no extra cost.

Intellectual Property

1. Your Entries: You retain ownership of the content you submit. ClioCache only uses your entries for the purpose of storage and return as described in these Terms.

2. ClioCache Materials: All materials provided by ClioCache, including prompts and packaging, are protected by copyright and cannot be reproduced without permission.

Termination

ClioCache reserves the right to suspend or terminate your subscription if you violate these terms or engage in conduct that we determine harmful to the Service or other users.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ClioCache is not liable for:

1. Loss of or damage to your entries during transit.

2. Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

3. Loss or damage caused by unforeseen or unavoidable events despite our rigorous  due diligence to protect your entries. 

4. In the case of loss, each ClioCache is valued at only its physical product cost.

Modifications

ClioCache reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. Users will be notified of updates via email or through prominent notices on our website. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting on our website. Continued use of the Service after changes signifies your acceptance.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom.
